Compagnie de Chemins de Fer Départementaux was founded in 1881 by Mathias Zens. His descendants hold 80% of the capital.
Initially a builder and operator of secondary railways, the company went on to become a designer and manufacturer of rolling stock.
Today, the group has diversified into rail, software and measurement applied to industrial processes.
Each of our companies has its own specific expertise, which we strive to develop. The Group's long-term viability is ensured by the flexibility of its strategy and organisation.
Financial strength
We know that investing for the long term means being able to withstand cyclical downturns. To ensure the security of our industrial investments, our property investments account for 50% of our financial resources.
Our available cash represents as much as our industrial investments. This means that we always have the capacity to invest in external development or in the creation of new products.
Our bank borrowings represent less than 10% of our equity of €22m.
Activities
- Supply Chain Execution Software Division:
We develop our software for logistics and transport players (WMS, TMS and transport cost optimisation).
- Railway Division :
Design, manufacture and renovation of rolling stock, perpetuating a railway tradition that goes back more than a century.
- Industrial Techniques Division:
Design and manufacture of sensors for integration into all types of industrial processes.
